Featured Maker: Ken Hawthorn

Ken is one of The Concord Consortium’s 25 outstanding teachers in the Teacher Ambassador Program, which recognizes outstanding teachers who have included Concord’s digital inquiry resources into their STEM classrooms.

Ken Hawthorn was a consulting prototype engineer for 16 years before becoming a teacher. Ken founded the Mechatronics program at St. Raymond school in Menlo Park where K-8 students learn to blend electronics, coding and chassis design. For the ’19-’20 school year Ken has accepted a position at Magellan International school in Austin. He offers PD and is always happy to help teachers new to Making. Ken’s favorite maker tool is the Crop-A-Dile, a classroom game changer when in comes papermech.
